Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Fishing logs, spots, notes, and species you enter.
• Photos you attach (may include GPS metadata).
• When authorized, device location for maps and tide/weather queries; you can choose approximate or precise location in system settings.
• Optional local preferences such as manually selected tide station ID, and Stormglass/WorldTides API Keys you provide in Settings (stored locally only).
• Purchase entitlement state (boolean) reflecting Pro access via Apple or RevenueCat; we do not store purchase receipts ourselves.

How we use information

• Display your logs and spots and provide basic stats.
• Fetch weather and tide data for selected locations.
• Provide optional iCloud sync and local backup/restore.
• Remember preferences (units, manual station selection, caches) to improve experience.

Data storage and security

• Data stays on your device; iCloud sync is optional.
• We do not run our own servers; backups are on your device or iCloud.
• We use platform-level protections but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party providers and shared data

Depending on your region and configuration, the app may request data from:

• NOAA Tides & Currents (US)
• Government of Canada IWLS (Canada)
• Queensland DES storm tide datasets (Australia)
• Singapore SGTideTimings open datasets (Singapore)
• Stormglass, WorldTides (global)
• Apple Maps, Apple iCloud
• RevenueCat (entitlements only, if enabled)

Requests may include approximate coordinates, timezone, unit preferences, and are received with your IP address by those services. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

Analytics and tracking

FishMemo does not embed third-party analytics SDKs. Apple may provide aggregate App Store metrics. If RevenueCat is enabled, it may process purchase-related metadata to grant entitlements.

Your rights and controls

• Export, delete, and edit your data in the app.
• Turn off iCloud sync in Settings, and revoke location access in system settings.
• Clear tide caches in Settings → Maintenance, and optionally clear manual station selection.

Children's privacy

This app is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority in your region, do not use this app.

Changes

We may update this policy periodically. Continued use signifies acceptance of updated terms.
